Weed killer

By March 22, 2011December 10th, 2023No Comments

I thought this would be a perfect time to talk about how to handle those hasty little weeds in your yard since it is spring and they love to make an appearance this time of year.  Herbicides have been linked to many health issues and should not be used, so throw your Round up away! Hopefully you will be convinced after reading this blog. The herbicides, Round up (Glyphosate) and 2, 4- D are the most popular herbicides used for lawn care.

Weed killers have been implicated in the following health conditions:

Non- Hodgkin’s Lymphoma in adults and children

Leukemia in children from exposure during pregnancy and childhood

Sterility in men

Birth defects

Damage to the liver and kidneys

Respiratory problems

Homemade Weed Killer Solution

If you have never used this homemade weed killer you must try it. I am happy to say that it works really well.  I typically spray it after I pull the weeds to make sure they don’t come back.  Please pick up an empty spray bottle and fill it with the ingredients:  1 gallon of white distilled vinegar, 1 cup of salt and 1-2 tbsp of dish soap.
