Risk Factors for Depression and Anxiety

Risk of depression and other mood disorders increases with a family history of these disorders. A diet high in sugar or processed foods predisposes you to low energy and a depressed mood as well. Risk also increases with alcohol use, prescription or illegal drug use, or lack of regular exercise.
