Acne
The presence of acne is something that can affect our self esteem regardless of our age. Acne is a representation of an internal imbalance, whether it is caused by hormones, constipation, diet or lifestyle. The Acne Treatment Program determines the underlying cause of acne in each individual case and makes recommendations to help improve not only the appearance of the skin, but other symptoms that may be present as well.
Diet plays a very important role in our overall health and encourages regular bowel movements, appropriate absorption of vitamins and minerals, healthy skin, nails, hair, balanced blood sugars and hormones. There are some foods that can trigger breakouts for everyone, but specialized tests, such as the IgG Food Intolerance Testing, can determine what foods may trigger acne in you.
This program includes hormone testing, as the most common cause of acne is due to a rise in testosterone levels. Testosterone can convert into DHT, which is form of testosterone that activates excess production of sebum (oil) that can clog the skin, and result in acne. A hormonal implication may also be connected if the acne worsens prior to the menstrual cycle or in conditions like PCOS.
Once your tests results are reviewed by your physician, an individual and comprehensive program will be designed. Recommended therapies will be focused on the underlying cause and can include botanicals, vitamins and other nutritional supplements.
