Every day, we are exposed to different toxins through our food and environment. Over time, those toxins build up in our bodies and can contribute to various health problems. At East Valley Naturopathic Doctors, we will often recommend regular detoxification as part of treatment for several different conditions.
Mold and Mycotoxins
Mycotoxins are metabolites that are produced by mold. Mold can be found in water damaged buildings that can commonly occur in the workplace or home environment without being noticeable.
Breast Implant Illness (BII)
ELISA/ACT Biotechnologies provides a test to look at the immune system’s reaction to silicone and other common toxins that may be found in breast implants. This is one way to determine if your breast implants are making you ill.
The Organic Acids Test (OAT) provides a metabolic “snapshot” based on those products the body discarded during urination. These small organic acid molecules are byproducts of human cellular activity, the digestion of foods, and the life cycles of gastrointestinal flora, including yeast.
The Estrogen Metabolism Test measures the ratio of 2-hydroxy (E1-Estrone + E2-Estradiol) to 16 alpha-hydroxyestrone in a random urine sample. Evidence indicates that this ratio is relevant as a risk factor for estrogen-sensitive diseases including breast and cervical cancers as well as some autoimmune diseases.
