PRP Micropen(aka Dermapen)

Micropen with Platelet Rich Plasma (PRP) is the foundation of skincare and facial rejuvenation. The advantages of Micropen with PRP include being completely natural, non-toxic, and no down time, with results present in days. Micropen treatment uses PRP to rejuvenate skin across the body, but is most often applied to the face as an anti-aging treatment.

PRP is derived and prepared from a patients own blood sample and when applied on and into the skin stimulates collagen and stem cell activity. The most common application areas include the face, scalp, and surgical scars or wounds. Conditions such as acne, normal aging, age spots, and wrinkles improve with the application of Micropen with PRP. It has also been shown to be useful in stimulating hair-growth by rejuvenating deficient and inactive hair follicles.

The PRP is applied across the skin using a fine needle applicator which drives the PRP into the dermis. This application uses your own PRP in procedures that would otherwise require chemicals and harsh toxins to rejuvenate the skin. Micropen with PRP is a natural anti-aging therapy that stimulates the collagen to rebuild, tighten, and rejuvenate the face giving it a younger more vibrant appearance.

The addition of Botox or Dysport, dermal fillers, and laser therapy combine perfectly to reverse and slow the aging process.

Botox and Dysport

Botulinum Toxin type A (Botox) has been used medically for thirty years, with the cosmetic use of purified botulinum beginning within the last 10 years. The cosmetic application uses very small amounts compared to its use to stop muscular spasms in the body. BOTOX Cosmetic is a prescription medicine that is injected into muscles and used to improve the look of moderate to severe frown lines, fine lines, and laugh lines. Used in small doses within the facial muscles of the forehead and lower brow, it is able to reduce the progress of deep wrinkles.

Botox has been the only available purified botulinum type A, however, outside the US Dysport has been in use for many years. With Dysport arriving in the last several years, patients have yet another option to treat wrinkles of the face.

Botox and Dysport are a very quick, in-office procedure, with results lasting 3-6 months. Over time the face will re-surface the wrinkles creating a younger, rejuvenated appearance.

Botox and Dysport add to the benefits of Micropen with PRP . Together these treatments synergistically reduce aging and restore a natural, non-surgical youthfulness to any face.

Dermal Fillers

Dermal fillers such as Juvederm, Restylane, and Perlane provide a base of hyaluronic acid to lift and present tissue in the face more youthful. It is found everywhere throughout the body, but it is essential to joints and skin. In the normal process of aging we lose volume in the face, applying the addition of gravity overtime, both result in a downward pull to the tissues of the face. Often patients complain of jowls, nasolabial folds, and a downward turn of the mouth. The hyaluronic acid based dermal filler will replace lost volume to the structure of the face.

Dermal fillers can be added to Botox and Dysport and to Micropen with PRP to  improve volume and tissue laxity, restoring the patient to a younger self.

Natural Facelift with PRP

Even from its early beginnings, the fundamental belief of Naturopathic medicine, has always been, that the body is able to heal itself. The rest of the medical world is now catching up with this idea, including its application for anti-aging facial rejuvenation.  We are excited to offer this very natural approach to helping you look as good as you feel.

The awareness of stem cell therapies have increased recently and have lead to the introduction of the “The Vampire Facelift”. The Vampire Facelift works by stimulating your own stem cells to rejuvenate and combat the effects of aging.

A true Vampire Facelift  combines the use of a hyaluronic acid based dermal filler( i.e. Juvederm, Restylane, Perlane) with platelet rich plasma(PRP) derived from the patients own blood. Hyaluronic acid is a substance already present in your body. It is found everywhere but it is essential to joints, skin and neural tissue. It is key in the hydration of human tissue.  PRP is the concentrated platelet rich plasma. When blood is drawn from an individual patient, it is spun in a centrifuge, and the platelet rich portion is isolated. The platelet rich portion has growth factors that stimulate healing of the connective tissue layer that supports the dermis. In addition PRP stimulates stem cells that also begin to restore and rebuild tissue toward its once youthful state.

This treatment is considered an autologous therapy, which means the donor and recipient are the same person. There are no foreign substances placed in the body for this procedure making it a perfect ‘natural’ rejuvenation. The Vampire Facelift is perfect for those starting to show signs of aging  and particularly for those who do not want or necessarily need a surgical facelift.

What to expect from this therapy?

It is a normal process of aging to lose volume in the face, with the addition of gravity, both resulting in a downward pull to the tissues of the face. Often clients complain of jowls, nasolabial folds, and a downward turn of the mouth. The volume lost or gravitationally forces causes these changes. The hyaluronic acid based dermal filler will replace lost volume to the structure of the face. A dermal filler and PRP are injected through out the facial structure to fill and lift, reducing the restoring the upper face volume while improving lower face benefits. Injection of the face just below the eyes, minimizes the hollowing that occurs with normal aging. The PRP portion of the procedure stimulates collagen and a rejuvenation of the skin itself. This is improvement increases for months following the procedure. A glow to the skin is most notable, present in the first few hours and days following the injection. The combination of both PRP and Hyaluronic acid or other dermal filler, to create the Vampire Facelift into a single treatment, we get synergistic results that are superior to any single treatment.

How long will the results last? The results are permanent but skin is living tissue and therefore the individual continues aging at their normal rate. We expect hyaluronic based fillers to last a minimum of a year depending on the product and the individual. We have tools, like retinol or retin-A, that can help increase the results and decrease the rate of collagen breakdown. This is a very exciting time in medicine and aesthetic, as tools and knowledge increase in assisting the body to effectively and naturally rejuvenate. The combination of Vampire Facelift with Botox or Dysport are the best combination to reverse and reduce the progression of normal aging of the face.

Laser Hair Removal

Could you imagine never shaving again?  How much time and money is spent removing unwanted hair? Laser hair removal provides a permanent solution for unwanted hair, eliminating the need for shaving, waxing, and tweezing. Laser therapy safely destroys the hair follicle in its active state by passing a beam of highly concentrated light through the skin. As hair has active and resting cycles more than one treatment is required. Most patients choose to have minimally three and up to six treatments to cover multiple resting and growth cycles. Dr. Julie Keiffer, who has years of experience and a master of technique, performs all laser therapies. Below are some of the most common areas treated: BIKINI LINE, FACIAL HAIR, UNDERARMS, BACK, CHEST, LEGS, and ARMS

Laser Spider Vein Therapy

Most patients have some problem with benign vascular lesions. These are often unsightly veins ranging from telangiectasia to spider veins to deeper vascular lesions which can be treated effectively with laser therapy. Using an infrared light source or Broadband Light (Intense Pulsed Light) and a variety of filters, tiny visible vessels, broken capillaries, spider veins, vascular lesions and discoloration of the skin are easily treated. This type of treatment specifically targets the thousands of tiny veins and blemishes that create a florid and uneven complexion. You can expect an even and clear complexion will emerge and with it a fresher and more youthful appearance.

Unfortunately, laser therapy is not effective for larger spider vein removal. If you have a combination of large and small spider veins, you should consider sclerotherapy for the larger ones first, followed later by laser treatment for the smaller ones. The laser is applied to the skin over your spider veins. Laser energy causes your spider veins to coagulate and shrink. Usually there is no need for anesthesia; you will experience a feeling similar to a small rubber band snapping against your skin.

Over a period of 2–6 weeks, spider veins will usually fade. After each treatment, improvement of 70–80% in the appearance of face spider veins two-three month intervals. The treatment may cause minor bruising which usually improves within a week, but often, recovery is immediate. You may apply make-up immediately after the treatment.

There are numerous drugs on the market to help with a man’s sex life. What about women? Finally there is a medical treatment available for the enhancement of a woman’s sex life. Interestingly enough it does not entail the use of pharmaceutical drugs. The initial results of treatments over the last year are yielding incredible results. This treatment available is called the O-Shot™.

The O-Shot is a virtually painless in-office quick procedure that uses the body’s own growth factors to stimulate, rejuvenate and enhance the orgasmic area of the vagina and clitoris. It is well established that sexual health is directly related to overall health. Frequent satisfying sexual events increase the immune system, decrease stress and decrease depression/anxiety.

Initial findings of the O-Shot are showing improvement in desire, arousal and orgasmic ability and intensity. Dr. Julie Keiffer is the first female physician in the state of Arizona to offer this treatment.

Though Platelet-Rich Plasma (PRP) comes from your own body and has demonstrated a low complication rate in other areas of the body, injecting PRP into vaginal structures and near the

clitoris (the Orgasm ShotTM, abbreviated as the O-Shot) is a new procedure and so could cause some unexpected side effects or complications. The use of PRP in this procedure is an ‘off label’ use, and no promise or representation, guarantee or warranty regarding its use, benefit or other quality is made. No representations that the use of this product and this procedure is approved by the FDA or any other agency of the federal or state government is made.

The Priapus/M-Shot uses blood-derived growth factors to enlarge and strengthen the penis. This treatment is natural in that your own cells are used, treated with a chemical that is not foreign to the body, and injected into the specified areas. Since a distillate of growth factors from your own blood growth factors is used, there should be no side effects from the material injected. The body reacts to the treated cells as it does to a wound and immediately starts repairing the tissue. This builds the underlying tissue with a 10 to 20% increase in length and girth. You should see improvements immediately and within 2-4 weeks an increase of 1 inch in girth and length is common.

There is actual growth of new tissue by stimulation of uni-potent stem cells, so the change in shape is not from something foreign being in the body but from the body actually rejuvenating and growing. The growth factors stimulate new blood flow with new blood vessels (neovascularization). The results of this treatment should last 15 – 18 months if results mimic that seen in facial procedures. Results may vary and research documenting the longevity of results are ongoing.

A summary of possible results include: immediately larger; strengthens the penis; straightens the penis; increased circulation within the penis for a healthier organ; makes other therapies work better (if you still need Viagra or Cialis, then it will work better for you); increases sensation and pleasure (helps correct the damage from diabetes), increased size by design (Can place more in base or in the head or wherever makes for best result), no allergic reactions (using your own body’s fluids), no lumpiness, and minimal pain (no burning from the PRFM since it’s from your own body).

How is the procedure accomplished?

A numbing lidocaine cream is applied to the penis. Approximately 20 cc (about 4 tablespoons) of blood are drawn in the same way blood samples are taken for routine lab tests. The tubes of blood are centrifuged to separate the component cells. Platelets are separated and used for this procedure. The platelets are treated with calcium chloride (which tricks the cells into thinking that

they are in the body and the body has been injured). The platelets release growth factors into the liquid of the tube. The liquid is transferred into a syringe and injected into the penis using a tiny needle and a process is used to distribute the growth factors and increase their effectiveness.

What are the foreseeable risks and discomforts?

The primary risks and discomforts are related to the blood draw where there is a slight pinch to insert the needle for collection and there is a potential for bruising at the site. The injections at the treatment locations cause pain similar to an intramuscular injection (since a small needle and numbing cream are used). There is a potential for a small bruise at the injection sites. There is risk of scarring but is minimal since regular injection of Tri-mix for years produces only about a 10% risk of scarring. Smokers have less positive response to this treatment than non-smokers. There may be some variation in achieving the results requested as everyone’s body type is different and may have a different response. To date, there have been no serious side effects with the use of PRP anywhere in the body. But, with or without the shot, erectile function and sensation can decrease with time.
