Vampire Facelift

Even from its early beginnings, the fundamental belief of Naturopathic medicine, has always been, that the body is able to heal itself. The rest of the medical world is now catching up with this idea, including its application for anti-aging facial rejuvenation.  We are excited to offer this very natural approach to helping you look as good as you feel.

The awareness of stem cell therapies have increased recently and have lead to the introduction of the “The Vampire Facelift”. Our Vampire Facelift in Mesa AZ, works by stimulating your own stem cells to rejuvenate and combat the effects of aging. (Do not blame me for the name of this procedure, the media is responsible for coining the term).

A true Vampire Facelift  combines the use of a hyaluronic acid based dermal filler( i.e. Juvederm, Restylane, Perlane) with platelet rich plasma(PRP) derived from the patients own blood. Hyaluronic acid is a substance already present in your body. It is found everywhere but it is essential to joints, skin and neural tissue. It is key in the hydration of human tissue.  PRP is the concentrated platelet rich plasma. When blood is drawn from an individual patient, it is spun in a centrifuge, and the platelet rich portion is isolated. The platelet rich portion has growth factors that stimulate healing of the connective tissue layer that supports the dermis. In addition PRP stimulates stem cells that also begin to restore and rebuild tissue toward its once youthful state.

This treatment is considered an autologous therapy, which means the donor and recipient are the same person. There are no foreign substances placed in the body for this procedure making it a perfect ‘natural’ rejuvenation. The Vampire Facelift is perfect for those starting to show signs of aging  and particularly for those who do not want or necessarily need a surgical facelift.

What to expect from this therapy?

It is a normal process of aging to lose volume in the face, with the addition of gravity, both resulting in a downward pull to the tissues of the face. Often clients complain of jowls, nasolabial folds, and a downward turn of the mouth. The volume lost or gravitationally forces causes these changes. The hyaluronic acid based dermal filler will replace lost volume to the structure of the face. A dermal filler and PRP are injected through out the facial structure to fill and lift, reducing the restoring the upper face volume while improving lower face benefits. Injection of the face just below the eyes, minimizes the hollowing that occurs with normal aging. The PRP portion of the procedure stimulates collagen and a rejuvenation of the skin itself. This is improvement increases for months following the procedure. A glow to the skin is most notable, present in the first few hours and days following the injection. The combination of both PRP and Hyaluronic acid or other dermal filler, to create the Vampire Facelift into a single treatment, we get synergistic results that are superior to any single treatment.

How long will the results last? The results are permanent but skin is living tissue and therefore the individual continues aging at their normal rate. We expect hyaluronic based fillers to last a minimum of a year depending on the product and the individual. We have tools, like retinol or retin-A, that can help increase the results and decrease the rate of collagen breakdown. This is a very exciting time in medicine and aesthetic, as tools and knowledge increase in assisting the body to effectively and naturally rejuvenate. The combination of Vampire Facelift with Botox or Dysport are the best combination to reverse and reduce the progression of normal aging of the face.
