Dr. Cavaiola utilizes specialized cardiovascular risk assessment tools like Lipoprotein Particle Profile (LPP+) and Carotid Intimal Media Thickness (CIMT) testing as part of East Valley Naturopathic Doctors’ Cardiovascular and Stroke Risk Assessment Program to determine risk of cardiovascular disease and the likelihood of experiencing a heart attack or stroke.   Dr. Cavaiola utilizes a wide variety of other laboratory tests including specialized tests like IgG Food Intolerance Testing, IgE Environmental Allergy Testing and Neurotransmitter Testing to determine the underlying cause of disease and pain syndromes.  Dr. Cavaiola also performs Bioimpedance analysis (BIA) and other laboratory testing to follow and determine if athletes, both professional and amateur, are performing optimally.

Dr. Cavaiola is a graduate of Southwest College of Naturopathic Medicine in Tempe, Arizona, where he completed more than 1100 hours of clinical training. Dr. Cavaiola specifically devoted over 400 hours of clinical and didactic training in Traditional Chinese Medicine (TCM) while studying both at SCNM and at the Phoenix Institute of Herbal Medicine and Acupuncture.   Dr. Cavaiola also obtained a Masters of Science degree in Human Nutrition from the University of Delaware where his special interest was assessing body composition through the use of magnetic resonance imaging (MRI) and dual energy x-ray absorptiometry (DEXA).  He also obtained a Bachelors of Arts degree in Biological Sciences from the University of Delaware.
